Paladin in a box. More of a tray, but it counts as a box, so cat rules state that it must be sat in. He doesn’t make the rules. 🐈

On the new Sinclair Trails blog (yes, it exists now!): tomorrow we’ll be doing a seven-hour roundtrip to check out and hopefully purchase a coach that looks like a very good fit for us. Wish us luck! 🚌💰

On the homestead blog for Caturday this week, Porcini has been enjoying sleeping in the cat house, though didn’t enjoy a raccoon briefly visiting her. Plus the others hanging around a bit, and a new kitten at the feed store. #Caturday 🐈

The answer to today’s #WhatsItWednesday question: it’s part of an aerial photo of our homestead from 2001, showing where the pond would be. The framed picture came with the house, and the red dot on it indicates we’ll leave it with the house. Bonus: pics from 2015 and 2021.

Let’s play What’s It Wednesday again. What do you think this is? Kinda a trick question; I want as specific an answer as possible. #WhatsItWednesday

Since some people asked, our estate sale is scheduled for September 9-12. The old Macs I’m selling include:

As part of preparing for our estate sale, I’m wiping my many old Macs and hard drives, all of which will be sold. Here’s my old PowerMac G5, running Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. (If anyone in the Portland region wants some old Macs, plan to come to the sale!) 🖥

We have a sign on our entertainment shelves, that we changed to “NOW SHOWING” for our real estate showings. The other day, Paladin knocked it over, with some letters falling off, resulting in it saying “SHWING”. We were amused.

Well, that’s very disappointing. The deal on the RV we were purchasing has fallen through. So now we’re back to the drawing board, searching for another coach. We’ve still got time, but that was a perfect one for us; we were so excited to find it. Alas!

On the homestead blog: also starting the last month of Caturdays. Since people have asked, fear not, the new owner of our homestead will be caring for all of our animals: the feral cats, ducks, chickens, and even the bees. #Caturday 🐈

Fun fact: I have a TextExpander snippet to write the Throwback Thursday text, that automatically includes the appropriate week number and year, thusly:

#! /bin/tcshset w=`date +"%U"` ; set y=`expr 1969 + $w + 1` ; echo "For week/year $w of my 52 years celebration, from ${y}: . #ThrowbackThursday #52years" Which outputs: For week/year 31 of my 52 years celebration, from 2001: . #ThrowbackThursday #52years

For week/year 31 of my 52 years celebration, from the year 2001: Jenn and me on a beach in New Zealand, shortly before we moved to the US. #ThrowbackThursday #52years

I’m still working on getting my new Sinclair Trails blog set up. The site is operational, but there’s a configuration issue that prevents posting to the blog via MarsEdit. I’m working with my hosting provider to fix it, but they’re rather slow.

The answer to today’s #WhatsItWednesday question: it’s a “Cable-It” cable organizer, to combine multiple wires into a tidy bundle, using a zipper tool to insert the cables into the conduit.
