Here's a recent @YellowCottageHomestead TikTok video of the ducks walking past the chicken run, and some chickens demanding attention:

I recently finished reading this novel (book zero of his Galactic Cold War series). An enjoyable story set in an interesting universe. I’m now reading the sequels.

On the homestead blog: I got myself a handy homestead addition: another garden cart.

I’ve been posting daily Paladin pics, but how about something a little different — a couple of pics of Pippin on my shoulder. 🐈

For your daily Paladin, here he’s enjoying the “smellovision” of an open window in our closet, watching birds in the garden. 🐈

On the homestead blog: It’s Friday. You know what that means. This week, chickens enjoying wriggly treats, ducks in various places, and some brave (or foolish) birds. #FlockFriday 🦆🐓

My most popular @YellowCottageHomestead TikTok video so far was this simple pan over our beehives; I guess people enjoy the bright colors (we do too):

On the homestead blog: today I did some more work on the bee shed project, building the doorway and adjacent wall framing. 🔨

The answer to today’s question: it’s the spindle of a cassette tape. Specifically, one of programs for my old ZX81 computer. #WhatsItWednesday

Let’s play What’s It Wednesday again. What do you think this is? Probably too easy for some of you, and too hard for others. #WhatsItWednesday

Happy St Patrick’s Day! I made traditional Irish soda bread, as I have for the past several years. ☘️🥖

Paladin has to check that we are doing it correctly when we’re putting out his wet food. 🐈

Mmm, tasty: @jidabug made some excellent sausage rolls tonight. Delightfully flaky pastry, and a very nice mix of pork and bison, for a uniquely American twist. Delectable, though kinda made me homesick for NZ.
