On the homestead blog: bee inspection, second treatments, and mowing. #dejus365 🐝

Getting out of BBQ season... but if it's not actively raining, I can at least cook a burger outside, then bring it inside to eat. #dejus365

By the way, in my previous post of Rory & Paladin, that isn't a well-timed action shot. Paladin lays on the chair, then stretches out and stays like that for a few minutes, until he slowly oozes off the chair. He's the strangest cat ever.

Woke up just before midnight to complete the pre-order of an iPhone XS Max 256GB Gold, on the iPhone Upgrade Program. Went very smoothly this time. Scheduled to arrive next Friday.

Not sure how I'll like the gold, but I like to change colors each year, to help make it feel new and shiny. I'm looking forward to going back to a plus-sized screen.

I've pre-pre-ordered (i.e. pre-approved for the upgrade program) an iPhone XS Max in gold. The most stupid iPhone name ever; I really don't know what they were thinking. But I'm sure it'll be a great device. I haven't had a gold phone before, but like to change colors to make the new phone feel more new.

Oh, also, I frequently cross-post my homestead blog posts to my personal blog (and thus to Micro.blog, Twitter, & Mastodon), but I should also cross-post my Dejal posts, as rare as they are. Like this: Dejal Simon 4.3b1 released, with Mojave dark mode and other improvements.

Today's homestead blog post covered three topics... so I'm thinking maybe I should have done three separate posts, instead of saving them up for a weekly post. More frequent posts is supposed to be better for building an audience, not that I'm actively trying to do that.

I haven't done any food pics in a while... so here's Sunday's tasty breakfast, raisin French toast with butter and powdered sugar, plus bacon. #dejus365

Continuing my mini series on childhood homes, here's where I lived from about 15 to 24 years old, during the last years of high school, university, and where I was when I met Jenn via Usenet. #dejus365 #ThrowbackThursday

We love living on rural property. Something that urban & suburban people don't need to worry about is septic pumping. 💩 Only has to be done every 5 years or so, though. #dejus365

I just listened to The Incomparable members bootleg of Action Castle III. It was a hilarious adventure of suspenseful technical difficulties, mayhem, confusion, and beatboxing. I assume the edited one would be missing the best bits! Once again, totally worth the membership.
